The Royal Flush: features well known African Americans who had a significant impact on history.
The Full House: features African American women as Princesses or Foes in a traditional Fairytale setting.
Artist Statement
I am a Seattle-based visual artist whose work is rooted in the tactile and the transformative. My practice focuses on the beauty, dignity, and resilience of Black women and the legendary figures of African American history. By blending traditional oil painting with collage, African fabrics, mosaic tile, and resin, I create layered surfaces that invite the viewer to experience art through both sight and touch. My work is a journey from the mundane to the extraordinary—a "safe port of call" where memory and imagination meet.
