Artist/Mother
Society is forging new paths for women in the art world, yet true progress demands we confront a long-standing ultimatum: career or family. This show celebrates artists who have refused to choose, who do everything to stay true to themselves, holding on to their art — weaving motherhood into their practice. Curated by Rebecca Woodhouse.
Lin-Lin Mao Mollitor: Eye, I
Behind every eye is a conscious life looking back.
This exhibition presents paintings of the eyes of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac, inviting viewers to consider the awareness and inner lives of other beings. Additional mixed-media works featuring landscapes behind chain-link fencing reflect on captivity and the ways humans control other living beings.
